Delectable Ramen at Mensho Tokyo, Raffles City Singapore

Stylish and Modern Interior of Mensho Tokyo at Raffles City

Mensho Tokyo

Raffles City Singapore #03-43
Opening Hours: 11am – 10pm (Mon – Sun)

The famed Mensho Tokyo has arrived in Singapore, offering a ramen experience that artfully combines tradition with innovation.

Helmed by the famed Tomoharu Shono, the award-winning restaurant presents a culinary philosophy that emphasises balance across the five key elements of ramen.

Oh, Duck Matcha Ramen? Interesting.

The bowl got me curious for its combination of matcha-infused chicken broth and tender duck chashu. The addition of whipped cream seems peculiar, yet it adds an unexpected creaminess.

If you would like something more conventional, there is the signature Toripaitan which takes a more indulgent route, featuring multiple types of meat like A5 Wagyu, smoked pork, and duck chashu.

Though known for its inventive dishes, Mensho Tokyo does not shy away from local influences, as evidenced by the Chilli Crab Ramen.

This Singapore-exclusive creation is a fusion of Japanese ramen and the beloved local chilli crab, with a delicately spiced rempah added to the creamy chicken broth.

The dish manages to capture the familiar heat and tang of chilli crab while still delivering the comfort of a classic ramen bowl.

Rich and Creamy Tapas such as Croqueta de Langosta at MoVida Original, Raffles City

Elegant Spanish Cuisine Setting at MoVida Original in Raffles City

MoVida Original

Raffles City Singapore #03-43

MoVida is widely regarded as one of Melbourne’s best and credited for sparking the city’s enduring love for modern Spanish cuisine.

You can now savour the food at MoVida Original – bringing a slice of Melbourne’s modern Spanish cuisine to Raffles City Singapore.

Helmed by Chef Frank Camorra, the tapas selection shines with the Croqueta ($9), which impresses with its crunchy exterior and creamy leek and lobster-filled centre.

The buttery Tartaleta ($9) filled with chicken liver parfait offers a delicate balance of richness and smoothness in a Brik pastry tart, making it a memorable bite. Must order.

For heartier options, I would recommend the Paella De Señorito ($75) which offers a solid take on the classic dish, featuring bomba rice and a medley of seafood like smoked prawns, calamari, and fish.

Tartufo e Funghi Pizza from Casa Vostra at Raffles City

Modern Italian Charm Inside Casa Vostra at Raffles City

Casa Vostra

Raffles City Singapore #01-49/50/51
Opening Hours: 11:30am – 10pm (Mon – Sun)

Casa Vostra offers a homey yet refined Italian dining experience, offering famed pizzas, pastas and an extensive Italian dining menu.

Chef Antonio Miscellaneo’s commitment to quality is evident throughout the menu, where house-made pizza and pasta take centre stage.

The Newpolitan Pizza ($15 – $28) is crafted from a meticulously developed dough that ferments over 36 hours and is baked in a wood-fired oven for a deliciously crispy yet airy crust.

My recommendation? The Tartufo e Funghi Pizza ($28) topped with ingredients like Fior di Latte and freshly shaved black truffle, which delivers an indulgent bite, with flavours that manage to be both earthy and delicate.

The pasta offerings at Casa Vostra also impresses – you can watch the chefs make the pastas on the spot. Go for the Crab Tagliatelle ($26), which features generous chunks of jumbo crab meat in a well-executed tomato confit sauce.

The combination of olive oil, garlic, and basil makes for a fragrant and deeply satisfying dish.

Refreshing Jasmine Green Milk Tea at CHAGEE, Raffles City

CHAGEE, Raffles City Singapore

CHAGEE

Raffles City Singapore #01-15
Opening Hours: 10am – 10pm (Mon – Sun)

The popular CHAGEE has opened at Raffles City Singapore, for those who crave for a refreshing and fragrant drink.

With so many choices, I would say go for their signature Jasmine Green Milk Tea which is brewed with carefully selected Jasmine tea leaves through a multi-stage process.

The result is a drink that feels light and pure, with each sip delivering delicate floral notes balanced by the creaminess of quality dairy.

I liked that it is smooth with just a subtle sweetness on the palate without being overpowering.

Or get the Ceylon Milk Tea which offers a beautiful blend of bold, full-bodied flavors with a smooth, creamy texture.

The tea’s brisk, robust character is complemented with the use of quality dairy, enhancing its natural sweetness.

Chef Davide’s personal touch is equally evident in the pasta and pizza offerings. The Linguine Astice e Burrata ($58) is a luxurious creation featuring homemade linguine in a rich lobster bisque, complemented by Boston lobster and an unexpected pairing of burrata cheese.

Or have the Casarecce alle Costine e Tartufo ($38), a comforting dish of homemade twisted short pasta with 24 hour braised short rib ragout,, finished with mascarpone and seasonal truffle.

If you are craving for a wood-fired pizza, have the Sapori di Bosco ($44) inspired by Chef Davide’s childhood in the Garfagnana mountains.
