[Seoul] Raw Coffee Stand 로우커피스탠드, tucked into a narrow alley in Seongsu, is quite a find.
It feels like one of those places that, once you find it, you immediately want to tell others about – but also keep to yourself.
From the moment you step into this stand-only café, the bold scent of freshly brewed coffee wraps around you, creating a contrast to its no-frills setting.
There is generally no seating, although there are some makeshift seats opposite the café.
To get to Raw Coffee Stand by train, take the Seoul Subway Line 2 to Ttukseom Station. Use Exit 8 and walk about 5 minutes along Wangsimni-ro 4-gil. Raw Coffee Stand is located in a narrow alley nearby.
One of the most impressive aspects of Raw Coffee Stand is its incredibly affordable pricing.
The menu at Raw Coffee Stand features an affordable selection of coffee and tea options. For coffee, there’s the Americano (2,200 Won), Café Latte (2,800 Won), and Cappuccino (2,800 Won).
They also have a Vanilla Latte (3,300 Won) for those who prefer a sweeter option.
Tea selections include Silver Moon, Earl Grey, White Sky, Peppermint, and Chamomile, all priced at (3,000 Won).
These prices are almost unheard of in Seongsu, especially considering the quality. This isn’t even a mass chain store with economies of scale.
It is not often you come across such reasonably priced coffee that still manages to hold its own against pricier spots.
Ordering here is simple, too. After paying, you’re given a number, and within a few minutes, you hear your order being called out.
The Latte (2,800 Won) was smooth and creamy, with a well-balanced milk-to-coffee ratio and a hint of cocoa that lingered pleasantly on the palate.
As for Seoul’s favourite drink, the Iced Americano (2,200 Won), it was not too acidic, not too bitter – just smooth and satisfying.
Seongsu is known for its photogenic, elaborately decorated cafés, so by comparison, Raw Coffee Stand might feel almost hidden.
Yet, it stands out just fine on its own.
