It is a boutique patisserie known for its handcrafted cakes that blend artistic flair with delectable flavours.
These gourmet cakes are actually influenced by French and Japanese patisserie techniques.
And they have this special cake that you may not have tried before – the best-selling Kori available in Lemon, Strawberry and Mango Passion.

If you are looking for recommendations, here are some of Cakebar’s top choices for gifts:
Kori Lemon ($58 for 8”)
If you are in the mood for something cool and refreshing, then get this Kori Lemon.
Unlike the usual cakes, the Kori Lemon has a top layer rich lemon curd infused with real 100% lemon juice and zest, over a crunchy white chocolate almond crumble base.
Just make sure you let it thaw for a few minutes before serving, as it comes frozen solid. The texture softens just enough after a few minutes out of the freezer, making it easier to cut and enjoy.
Having it was almost like having ice cream, ideal for those hot summer days when you need a treat to cool off.
When you take a bite, the bold, tangy flavour hits you with a citrusy zing that really wakes up your palate.
What makes it special is the balance between the tartness of the lemon curd and the base of white chocolate almond crumble.
I found that the crumble adds a nutty contrast, making each bite a mix of sharp, sweet, and creamy goodness. Lemon lovers will love it.
Kori Strawberry ($58 for 8”)
If you prefer a softer, more summery flavour, then go for the Kori Strawberry (or the Mango Passion).
The creamy strawberry layer made with fresh strawberries is indulgent with a touch of tanginess, almost like having premium ice cream.
The almond crumble base offers a buttery-salty crunch, which is a lovely contrast to the sweetness above.
Just as with the Kori Lemon, you will want to let this one sit out for a few minutes before digging in, allowing the creamy layers to soften.
Caramel Mixed Nuts Beer Cake (from $48)
Popular whole cakes here include Coffee Tiramisu, Strawberry Lemon Pistachio, Lychee Rose Raspberry Almond, Earl Grey Seasalt Hazelnut, Ondeh Cake, to 75% Dark Chocolate Fudge.
I was most intrigued with the Caramel Mixed Nuts Beer Cake.
This cake consists of layers of Guinness-infused moist chocolate sponge, each topped with a layer of salted caramel mousse.
You can taste the subtle bitterness of the beer, but not over.
The other interesting component is the topping of generous portion of caramelised mixed nuts, which provide a crunchy contrast to the soft mousse and sponge layers. Pleasantly surprised by its complexity.
Joie de Pastry Gift | Single Cakes Box ($39.00)
The Joie de Pastry Gift Box is a great choice if you are looking to gift something thoughtful and delicious.
Customers have the flexibility to mix and match three of their single cakes, making it ideal for birthdays, or any special occasion.
I opted for the Black Sesame Matcha Cheesecake, Lychee Rose Raspberry Almond, and the 75% Dark Chocolate Fudge.
The recommended is the Black Sesame Matcha Cheesecake – the best combination for Japanese dessert lovers. You get earthy matcha and aromatic black sesame creating in a velvety dessert that isn’t overly sweet.
As for the Lychee Rose Raspberry Almond, you get sweet tanginess of lychee curd, the floral sweetness of rose buttercream, and the creamy richness of white chocolate ganache. If you prefer something with a burst of brightness.
The 75% Dark Chocolate Fudge cake is for those who prefer something more indulgent. It has layers of dark chocolate mousse, strawberry chantilly, and chocolate ganache. The glossy mirror glaze adds a luxurious finish to slightly bitter dark chocolate dessert.
Joie de Pastry Gift | Popular Box ($45.00)
The Joie de Pastry Gift Popular Box from Cakebar is a versatile collection that lets you mix and match an assortment of treats.
This includes one cookie bottle, one single cake, and two rectangular boxes containing your choice of macarons, madeleines, Nattsu, or sliced cakes.
For mine, I chose the Ondeh XXL Cake as the single cake, which stood out as a giant version of the classic Ondeh Ondeh.
Handcrafted with pure gula melaka and pandan leaf extract, take note that this centre does not exactly ‘flow’.
Along with the cake, I selected a bottle of cookies and two rectangular boxes—opting for Madeleines and Macarons.
For the Macarons, choices include Dark Chocolate, Salted Caramel, Matcha, Strawberry Balsamic, Earl Grey Mix Peels Cream Cheese, Lemon, and Coffee.
Madeleines ($22 for box of six)
The Madeleines Gift Box is a pretty assortment of six unique flavours, each beautifully packaged and individually wrapped.
This offers a wonderful variety of tastes for sharing or gifting.
The selection includes the traditional buttery Apam Balik Madeleine, earthy Matcha Madeleine, rich Chocolate Madeleine, vibrant Red Velvet Madeleine, nutty Coffee Pecan Madeleine, and the smooth Hazelnut Madeleine.
