The popular Homm Dessert recently made its way to Singapore, opening its doors at the basement of Raffles City Singapore.

Originating from Melbourne, Homm Dessert has quickly become known for its creative desserts, which offer a fusion of Asian influences with a modern twist.

You may have seen it at Melbourne Central or La Trobe Street if you have been to Melbourne.

Homm Dessert Brings Thai-Inspired Treats to Singapore

Founded by the husband-and-wife team of Bass Sakdatorn and Proud Saithai, who sought to introduce the tastes of Thai street desserts to Australia, Homm’s offerings range from traditional Asian flavours to modern, imaginative sweets.

Named after the Thai word for “sweet-smelling”, Homm delivers on the commitment to using natural ingredients, made in-house, and without added preservatives.

Homm Dessert at Heart is Singapore’s New Go-To for Asian-Inspired Bingsu and Shokupan

In terms of the menu, the concept is heavily inspired by Thai dessert traditions, blended with elements from Korean and Japanese cuisine, especially seen in their bingsu (Korean shaved ice) and shokupan (Japanese milk bread) offerings.

With signature desserts that are both visually stunning and indulgent, here’s what you can expect from Homm Dessert at Heart:

Thai Tea Avalanche Bingsu from Homm Dessert at Heart Singapore

Savour the Thai Tea Avalanche Bingsu at Homm Dessert at Heart Singapore

Thai Tea Avalanche Bingsu ($19.80)

This dish is a towering serving of Thai milk tea-flavoured snow ice, complemented by layers of whipped cream cheese, crumble, and Thai tea gelato.

Why ‘avalanche’?

Pull out the outer ‘bingsu collar’, and you will find the layers of Thai tea-flavoured snow ice cascading down, mimicking the flow of an avalanche.

The generous toppings like whipped cream cheese, crumble, and Thai tea sauce add to the dramatic, overflowing effect.

The first thing I noticed was the soft, fluffy snow-like shaved ice, infused with the distinct taste of Thai milk tea.

The ice itself is light and airy, melting almost instantly in your mouth.

What makes this bingsu stand out is the interplay of textures. The smooth ice and cheese are balanced by the crunchy crumble topping. The Thai tea gelato, sitting atop the bingsu, adds a concentrated burst of flavour. So good.

Homm’s Taro Bingsu from Homm Dessert at Heart Singapore

Homm’s Taro Bingsu ($19.80)

The first thing that strikes you is the stunning purple hue of the taro snow ice, which is light and fluffy, providing a smooth and cooling base.

Taro lovers will especially appreciate the taro paste added in the middle.

Made with real taro (no artificial colourings), it offers a denser, creamier element that contrasts beautifully with the snow-like ice.

Special mention goes to the hand-crafted pumpkin boba pearls which add some chewiness to each spoonful, while the strips of coconut meat give a refreshing bite.

Oh, it is also vegan, gluten-free and nut-free as well, just in case you are wondering.

Coconut Pandan Shokupan ($18.80)

I was drawn in by the rich aroma of caramelised butter and pandan. The bread itself was both crispy and soft – which can be described as a ‘brûlée toast’.

The Thai-style pandan kaya, made with fresh leaves, really stood out for me.

It wasn’t too sweet, which is something I appreciated, as the balance between the richness of the kaya and the creaminess of the coconut gelato felt just right.

Salted Egg Pain Perdu at Homm Dessert at Heart Singapore

Salted Egg Pain Perdu found at Homm Dessert at Heart Singapore

Salted Egg Pain Perdu ($13.80)

The Salted Egg Pain Perdu is French toast taken to a whole new level. You can also choose other fillings such as taro, pandan kaya, and Thai tea.

Crafted from Japanese milk bread, it is fried to a golden crisp on the outside while staying wonderfully soft and fluffy inside.

The star of the dish, however, is the salted egg filling. The creamy blend is made with real salted eggs, blended till smooth with milk.

As I cut through the golden exterior, the bread revealed its fluffy, warm centre.

Paired with Homm’s house-made coconut gelato, you get savoury, sweet, warm, and cold in every bite.

Mango Sticky Rice Mochi at Homm Dessert at Heart Singapore

Mango Sticky Rice Mochi ($6.80)

As a fan of traditional mango sticky rice, I was curious to see how Homm would reinterpret it.

The chewy mochi skin encapsulating the cool coconut gelato was a great move, and it paired wonderfully with the sweet, juicy fresh mango cubes.

The mango puree and lime gel gave the dessert a refreshing, tropical burst of flavour.

It was fun to eat while still delivering the familiar, comforting flavours of mango sticky rice.

Range of refreshing drinks from Homm Dessert at Heart Singapore

While the desserts are the main attraction, Homm also offers a small range of beverages, including the refreshing Twilight, the more robust Eclipse, and coffee.

Coffee ($5 onwards)

For coffee lovers, Homm offers a single-origin brew made from Colombian San Sebastian beans – locally roasted, Melbourne-style.

The medium roast brings out the beans’ natural flavours, highlighting notes of chocolate, mandarin, and black tea.

It is an ideal choice if you prefer a coffee that balances brightness of slightly fruitty undertones with chocolatey finish.

Twilight at Homm Dessert at Heart Singapore

Twilight ($5.80)

The Twilight is a cooling mix of homemade mango passion puree topped with butterfly pea tea.

The drink offers a striking visual appeal as the deep blue of the butterfly pea tea gradually blends with the bright orange mango passion base.

Both light and invigorating – a perfect thirst-quencher on a hot day.

Mango Passional Thai Tea Mocktail at Homm Dessert at Heart Singapore

Mango Passion Thai Tea Mocktail ($5.80)

A twist on the classic Thai tea. It blends home-brewed Thai tea with a mango passion puree base and sparkling water.

Thai Milk Tea from Homm Dessert at Heart Singapore

Thai Milk Tea ($4.80)

This Thai Milk Tea is rich, creamy, and balanced with just the right amount of sweetness.

It actually combines two types of Thai tea – one for its vibrant taste and aroma, and the other to add a delicate touch of tea bitterness that enhances the overall flavour. Worth having.
