Inside, the filling presents a creamier and more custard-like consistency than what you might expect, although a stronger egg flavour would have enhanced the experience.
And there are reviews which also mentioned this is not quite the same as the original Choy Kee.
For the best enjoyment, I recommend savouring this treat warm to fully appreciate the soft, lush texture of the custard.

Upon entering, I was greeted by a wide variety of pastries, each giving off a tempting aroma. I decided to try the highly recommended Egg Tart.

At least the egg custard filling was smooth and wobbly with rich flavour.

Their Sourdough Egg Tart ($2.20) is worth an order. The first thing you will notice about the tart is its visually striking colour, encased in a crisp, buttery black shell infused with charcoal powder.

While marketed as a sourdough tart, it doesn’t carry the expected tang, which may or may not be a surprise depending on your preference.

Here is a decent stop for casual bites of Hong Kong-inspired baked goods. Upon entering, you are greeted by a cosy setup with earthy tones and a small seating area.
The egg tarts at Victoria Bakery are also worth trying, with the HK-style Egg Tart striking a good balance between a buttery, flaky crust and a smooth, not-too-sweet custard filling.
I found it lacking the richer flavours like those in other Egg Tarts.
Yet, while it doesn’t rival the best in the city, it offers a decent experience for mall-goers looking for a quick snack.
If you are feeling more adventurous, the Cookie Skin Egg Tart ($2.60) adds a distinct twist, combining a crunchier base with a sweeter filling.
