[Ipoh] I was on the hunt for the best café in Ipoh, not just for the White Coffee, but for specialty coffee.

Online searches brought me to Kommons, found on the ground floor of the Travelodge Hotel. Interesting.

From Oolong Peach to Ondeh-Ondeh: A Journey Through Kommons’ Delicate Cakes

I decided to have the Oolong Peach (RM21), which merges floral tea flavours with the gentle sweetness of peach,

The appearance is shaped like a jewel in shades of pastel purple. Very pretty.

While the price is higher than the average cake in Ipoh, the texture is light and airy, balanced by the fruity, slightly tart peach layer.

The Ondeh cake (RM21) is also visually striking with a light green hue from pandan, covered in desiccated coconut for added texture.

The flavour is rich and aromatic, with pandan essence shining through, though I was wishing more of that oozy gula melaka (palm sugar) like an actual Ondeh Ondeh.
